paradigm
The way things are done because they’ve been done this way forever. A term used to mystify and intimidate colleagues, customers, and clients who are ideally short-circuited by the use of such a fancy word, especially one that contains a silent “g.” It is far too sophisticated and intellectual a word to be bandied about, especially because the majority of people who use it have no idea what it means.
